Who says grammar and language mechanics can’t be fun?
I’m not sure who invented this quirky little riddle, but
here it is.
Q: What’s the
difference between a cat and a comma?
Got it?
Here’s the answer, if you haven’t figured it out for
yourself (or heard this one already).
A: A cat has claws at the end of its paws, but a comma is a
pause at the end of a clause.
OK, that’s not always true, but it’s good for a little
grammatical chuckle or two. And to an editor, that may be the cat’s meow.
